Championship Predictions

All three of the Premiership drop-outs (Charlton, Sheffield United, Watford) are reckoned to have good chances of going straight back up. The SoccerWinners computer estimates make Charlton the favourites. They are tipped to win the Championship by a clear margin of 5 points, and Sheffield United are second. Play-off teams West Brom and Southampton should be in contention again.

Barnsley really struggled last season, and finished 20th after a 7-0 drubbing by West Brom. Fans can expect similar misery this year as the computer predicts they will finish last. Cardiff should keep them company. They did their level best to get into a relegation battle by losing 7 out of their last 9 matches (and drawing 2). Coventry and newly promoted Bristol City are the other teams likely to be propping up the table.
